SRM Troubleshooting Guide
tst_srmcmd.exe
This program will perform a number of functions on the SRM Server machine,
including enabling/disabling tracing and checking the scheduler and listener.
1. Copy the program to the Program Files\Storage Resource Manager\ directory. It
uses DLLs that are located here.
2. Enter the following at the command prompt to list all options:
tst_srmcmd /?
The four different formats for this program are:
• -cT+ — Enables server-side tracing.
• -cT- — Disables server-side tracing.
• -cPL — Pings the SRM Server Listener. Look for success.
• -cPS — Pings the SRM Server Scheduler. Look for success. This will verify
whether or not the scheduler is running. If it is not, scans and other jobs will
not run.
tst_srmtracer.exe
This program will run in a command window and receive trace output messages
real-time as they are being generated by the SRM Server.
srmkeyhealth.exe
This program will check a number of things in the SRM database, including the
license status. This can be used if the UI is displaying a License Expired
message. If this is an evaluation version of SRM, this tells you when the eval license
expires.
1. Copy the program to the Program Files\Storage Resource Manager\ directory. It
uses DLLs that are located here.
2. Enter the following at the command prompt:
srmkeyhealth.exe –v
A detailed report with more information, including the database schema version
displays.
