Configuring SRM OpenVMS Agents
When registering SRM OpenVMS Agents for monitoring by the SRM Server, you
have three agent configuration choices: cluster, private, or both.
A “cluster” configuration scans only shared disks—determined by a mount count
greater than 1.
A “private” configuration scans only local disks—determined by a mount count
equal to 1.
An agent configured as “both” scans private and shared disks—determined by a
mount count equal to or greater than 1.
Figure 4–28 shows an example OpenVMS configuration made up of 5 VAX and/or
Alpha systems. The letters represent nodes, and the numbers represent storage
devices. Node A has two private storage devices, Disks 1 and 2. Nodes B and C each
have one private storage device, Disk 3 and Disk 4 respectively. Nodes D and E have
no private storage devices. All five nodes share (cluster) Disks 5 and 6.
