Installation
Registering without a Cluster Alias
If you do not have a cluster alias, register the SRM OpenVMS Agents according to
one of the following examples:
Example 1
1. Register Nodes A, B, and C in “p” (private) configuration mode.
2. Register either Node D or Node E in “c” (cluster) configuration mode, leaving the
other node unregistered.
In this configuration, the nodes will report on the following disks:
Node A will report on Disks 1 and 2.
Node B will report on Disk 3.
Node C will report on Disk 4.
Node D or Node E will report on Disks 5 and 6.
Example 2
1. Register either one of Nodes A, B, or C in “b” (both) configuration mode, with the
other two nodes registered as “p” (private).
2. Do not register Nodes D and E.
In this configuration, the nodes will report on the following disks:
Node A will report on Disks 1, 2, 5, and 6.
Node B will report on Disk 3.
Node C will report on Disk 4.
Node D and Node E will not report anything.
Registering Other OpenVMS Agent Configurations
You can register an SRM OpenVMS Agent with additional SRM Servers after the
installation.
NOTE: The directories in this procedure are examples and might differ from your OpenVMS
systems.
1. At the OpenVMS prompt, enter the following command:
set default [directory name of Agent location]
You see the files in the default directory.
