Using the Window
sNotesClientPlug-InwithLocalCache
Windows client
s can use the plug-in together with Local Cache for no-click access to archived messages.
The plug-in interacts with the cache in three ways:
Message is in th e cac he: When users open a tombstoned message, the plug-in looks for a pointer
to the message in the cache. If it is found, the plug-in it retrieves the message from the ca che and
automatically displays it for the user. This improves performa nce and reduces the load on the IAP.
Message is not
in the cac he an d user is onlin e : When users open a tombstoned message that is
not in Local C
ache, the plug-in retrieves the m essage from the IA P and d isplays it for the user.
Messa g e is not in the cache and user is of ine: When users open a tombstoned message that
is not in the cache, they see text stating that the message has been archived. The m essage
cannot be ret
rieved until the user is online.
NOTE:
Make sure that the HPCLIENTEXCLUDE=localcache, taskldr=0 variable is listed in
notes.ini. This variable is required for proper functionality when the plug-in a nd Local Cache are
used togeth
er. It is added in variableInstallation.ini and executed when the plug-in installer
is run. Se e
