NOTE:
The preprocessing and reference databases should not be replicated. To cre-
ate a new preprocessing and reference database on message processing
servers, see Creating a new preprocessing database ”onpage145and
Creating a new reference database on page 146.
Configuring the Preprocessing Control documents
A Preprocessing Control document must be configured for each preprocessing da tabase that is used
during archiving. Three default documents have been created: for selective archiving, journaling, and
bulk uploa d.
To configure a Prepro cessing Control document:
1. In the Domino Administra tor client, click the Files tab and open the HP EAs-D API database.
2. In the main view, under PreProcessing Controls, double-click the default document for journaling,
selective archiving, or bulk upload to open the document.
3. If this will be the default Preprocessing Control document for the domain, click Yes.Otherwise,
leave the default of No.
4. Configure the settings in each tab:

Agent Log Set t ings on page 39
Execution Settings on page 39
Debug Settings on page 40
5. In Status, click Enabl e when you are ready to enable the Preprocessing Control document.
6. Select File > Save to save the document.
IMPORTANT:
To create a new Preprocessing Control document, copy one of the existing documents in the main
view. This ensures that the encapsulation database is copied into the new document. Do not use the
Create menu.
