Editing the Preprocessing Control document
To edit the d o cument:
1. In the Domin
o Administrator client, open the HP EAs-D API database.
2. In the PreProcessing Controls area of the EAs-D API main view, double-click PreProcessing Controls
Default for Bulk Upload.
3. In the Databases Location tab, select the server(s) running the Encapsulate agent.
4. In the Encapsu lation Set tings tab, edit the temporary work directory if necessary.

5. Enable an

Enabling the agents
After editing the bulk upload mining rule and configuring the Preprocessing Control document, enable
the prep rocessing and mining agents.
For preprocessing, enable the Encapsulate agent in HP EAs-D Bulk Upload P reprocessing
database (hprim\hp_preproc_blk.nsf).
For mining, enable the Archive and Tom bstone agents in the H P EAs-D Bulk Upload Reference
database (hprim\hp_riss_blkupdreferenc.nsf).
Discovering the databases
Discover the user databases containing the messages to be archived. Th e discovery is run from the
command line.
1. In the D
omino Administrator client, open the ser ver console by selecting Server > Status > Ser ver
Console.
2. Issue the following command:
load hp
blkupd —d<db/dir> —kbulk
For example, to locate the database files in the terminated sub-directory in the Domino data
directory, load the files into the default bulk upload database, and associate them with the b ulk
uploa
drule,enter:
load hpblkupd –dterminated –kbulk
The following arguments can be used for database discovery:

The database or directo ry to search. You can run the process on a single database
or a directory.
If you do not specify a value for –d, the tool searches every database in the Domino
data directory.
–r<db>
The database to store Mail Detail records created for e ach database
that is discovered. The default discovery database (no –r argument) is
hp_rissblkupd.nsf.
–k[profile]
The name of the mining rule. If you use the default bulk upload rule, this value
is bulk.
–v
Ver
bose mode, which also displays the discovered databases.
