Install Java Runtime Environment (RTE); see step 5 (prerequisite for EVM).
Install Java Plugin (JPI); see step 6 (prerequisite for EVM).
Configure the user profile for Netscape 6.2.x; see step 7.
Configure the RTE and JPI for Netscape 4.7x or 6.2.x; see step 8.
1. Install QPK1100 (a prerequisite for running Netscape 4.7x) as follows:
NOTE: This patch bundle is located on the Support Plus CD-ROM (March 2002 or later)
that comes with the operating system media, and at http://www.software.hp.com/
SUPPORT_PLUS/qpk.html.
a. Create a new directory as the mount point for the CD drive, if necessary,
using:
mkdir /cdrom
b. Mount the Support Plus CD-ROM to the mount-point directory and register
the patch bundle.
The following example illustrates this process:
mount /dev/dsk/<device_filename>/ cdrom
swreg -l depot -v /cdrom/QPK1100
c. From the command prompt, enter swinstall&.
A software installation GUI displays.
d. In the Specify Source window:
—For Source Depot Type, select Local Directory.
—For Source Depot Path, type /cdrom/QPK1100.
e. Click OK.
f. From the software installation GUI, select QPK1100.
g. Choose Actions > Manage Patch Selection.
h. Deselect Include patches with selected (marked) software from the
source.
i. Select Automatically select patches for existing software on the target.
j. Click OK.
A Confirmation pop-up window displays.
