3.5 Setting up HDLM
HDLM has load balancing, automatic failback, error logging, and other functions. You can set
up these functions by using the Options window of the HDLM GUI or by using the dlnkmgr
command's set operation.
The following subsections describe these setup methods.
3.5.1 Preparations for Setting HDLM Functionality
For setting the HDLM functionality, this chapter describes steps involved in starting the
Options window of HDLM and how to check the settings before the change by using the
dlnkmgr command's set operation.
3.5.1.1 Opening the Options Window Using the HDLM GUI
When you set the HDLM functionality by using the HDLM GUI, start the Path Management
window and then the Options window in accordance with the following procedure.
To open the Options window:
1. Log on to Windows as a member of the administrators group.
The Path Management window cannot be displayed if you logged on to Windows as a user
other than a member of the administrators group.
2. From the Start menu, select Programs, Dynamic Link Manager, and then HDLM GUI.
The Path List view of the Path Management window is displayed.
3. Click the Options button. As shown in
Figure 3.2, the Options window opens with the
Options window displayed.
