HP 3PAR X9000 File Serving Software (IBRIX) Implementation Guide (QL226-96987, June 2013)

Figure 10 Controller Node Entries Not Visible during Reboot
5. Once the node reboot is successful, the node entry for node 3 reappears in the GUI (see
Figure 9 (page 54)), and I/O is still in progress.
For more information about the Persistent Cache software, see The HP 3PAR Architecture, which
is available at the following HP website:

General Recommendations
Observe the following guidelines:
It is most efficient to keep the number of CPGs as low as possible, as each CPG requires
allocation of certain amount of growth space.
Dynamic Optimization allows user to improve the performance of virtual volume by changing
the RAID type of VVs, converting fully-provisioned volumes to thinly-provisioned volumes. See
“Using Dynamic Optimization (page 49).
By using persistent cache functionality, you have the advantage of performing continuous IO
even when controller node failures occur. See “Using Persistent Cache Software (page 52).
File system extension should not be performed when a data tiering job is in progress, as the
expansion takes priority and the tiering task is terminated. See “Extending a File System
(page 28).
