HP 3PAR X9000 File Serving Software (IBRIX) Implementation Guide (QL226-96987, June 2013)
Figure 10 Controller Node Entries Not Visible during Reboot
5. Once the node reboot is successful, the node entry for node 3 reappears in the GUI (see
Figure 9 (page 54)), and I/O is still in progress.
For more information about the Persistent Cache software, see The HP 3PAR Architecture, which
is available at the following HP website:

General Recommendations
Observe the following guidelines:
• It is most efficient to keep the number of CPGs as low as possible, as each CPG requires
allocation of certain amount of growth space.
• Dynamic Optimization allows user to improve the performance of virtual volume by changing
the RAID type of VVs, converting fully-provisioned volumes to thinly-provisioned volumes. See
“Using Dynamic Optimization” (page 49).
• By using persistent cache functionality, you have the advantage of performing continuous IO
even when controller node failures occur. See “Using Persistent Cache Software” (page 52).
• File system extension should not be performed when a data tiering job is in progress, as the
expansion takes priority and the tiering task is terminated. See “Extending a File System”
(page 28).
