2.0 Features
3PAR Geocluster for Windows adds Geoclustering capability to Microsoft Cluster Server’s
clusters using 3PAR storage arrays for high availability data storage. Geoclustering allows
data to be replicated from a primary site to a backup site, and in case of site failover, the
replication will be reversed in a manner transparent to failover-tolerant applications.
Benefits include:
Automated failover: Simplified recovery procedures, Better Recovery Point
Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
Near transparent integration to MSCS: Management via the MSCS Failover Cluster
manager.
Application abstraction: Supports any application tolerant to MSCS failover,
including Hyper-V Live Migration.
3.0 Known Issues
3PAR Geocluster for Windows resource deletion
Symptoms
Deleting the 3PAR Geocluster for Windows resource in Failover Cluster Manager can cause
other 3PAR Geocluster for Windows resource resources to fail, even if they are not part of
the same Service and Applications group.
