• Presented virtual disks—When selecting a virtual disk or group of virtual disks with host
presentations, the selected virtual disks and the hosts to which they are presented are migrated.
In addition, any presentations the source hosts have with other virtual disks will include those
virtual disks in the migration.
• Unpresented virtual disks—Only the selected virtual disks are migrated offline.

EMC to 3PAR Migration Process Checklist
The process to migrate EMC Storage volumes to HP 3PAR StoreServ Storage system is as follows.
Each of the steps or commands outlined in this section is covered in greater detail throughout this
document and in the HP 3PAR Online Import for EMC Storage Data Migration Guide. The checklist
is divided into three sections:
• Pre-migration: work done to setup a server migration but not necessarily repeated.
• Migration: which steps are repeatable for migration.
• Post-migration: which is the clean-up after migrations complete.
This checklist details the minimally disruptive migration process. For the offline migration process,
see “Performing an Offline Migration” (page 38).
