Chapter 10, Common Provisioning Groups, discusses how logical disks can be pooled into
groups used to provision space in virtual volumes.
Chapter 11, Physical Disks, provides detailed information about storage server physical
disks.
Chapter 12, Drive Cages, provides detailed information about storage server drive cages
and loops.
Chapter 13, Controller Nodes, describes how to obtain summary and detailed information
about storage server controller nodes.
Chapter 14, SNMP, describes the 3PAR SNMP agent and explains how to register a manager
with this agent.
Chapter 15, Space Management, provides information about freeing and reclaiming space
within the InServ storage system.
Chapter 16, mySnapshot, describes how to use the 3PAR mySnapshot utility to enable
non-storage professionals such as DBAs, software developers, and test engineers safe and
easy copy and provisioning access.
Chapter 17, The 3PAR InForm CIM API, describes the 3PAR CIM API.
Chapter 18, Task Management, describes how to use the task management capabilities of
the InForm OS and the InForm CLI task management commands to manage long-running
operations on the system.
Chapter 19, Dynamic Optimization, explains how to use the optional 3PAR Dynamic
Optimization feature of the InForm OS. The 3PAR Dynamic Optimization feature enables
you to dynamically tune volumes by changing volume parameters (for example, RAID
levels, set sizes, and disk filters).
Chapter 20, System Tuner, explains how to use the optional 3PAR System Tuner feature of
the InForm CLI that allows you to identify over-utilized physical disks as candidates for load
balancing and perform load balancing on those disks.
Appendix A, Sparing, shows you how to view, create, and remove spare chunklets on the
storage system. Spare chunklets are automatically designated at installation and setup to
handle disk failures. This appendix gives you additional information that you can use to
actively manage sparing on the storage system.
