6.8 The Port Parameters
Changing port parameters for specific storage server Fibre Channel ports requires the use of
the InForm CLI
controlport command. This command controls several aspects of a Fibre
Channel port. Whenever you use this command, it must be followed immediately by a sub-
command specifying the operation you want to perform and then by the port location in
node:slot:port (N:S:P) format.
To set the port connection type, use the ct sub-command followed by loop, point, or lp
and then by the port location in node:slot:port (N:S:P) format. Use loop for
arbitrated loop and
point for a point-to-point connection. If you use connection type lp,
the system first checks for a loop and then uses a point-to-point connection if a loop cannot
be established. The default value is
loop.
Set the port’s data rate in Gbps with the rate sub-command followed by 1 or 2 and then
by the port location in
node:slot:port (N:S:P) format. Alternatively, you can use

(LIP), that are tasks normally used only during testing and debugging. These
options are described in the InForm OS Command Line Interface Reference.
