HP 3PAR InForm OS 3.1.1 GA/MU1 Patch 89 Release Notes

This release notes document is for Patch 89 (P89) of the 3PAR InForm OS 3.1.1.226 (GA) and

3.1.1.342 (MU1) release.

CAUTION: HP 3PAR Storage Systems must be upgraded to a minimum of InForm OS 3.1.1 GA (with

P06 or P08) before Patch 89 can be installed.

NOTE: Applying this patch to the InForm OS may restart the affected OS components. With these

restarts, expected behaviors such as events and alerts may be generated. The system will continue to

serve data but existing CLI or IMC sessions may be interrupted.

1.3 Patch 89 Diagnostic Utility

Patch 89 (P89) is an automated, non-disruptive, and background diagnostic utility patch. This patch

proactively scans PD chunklets and Logical Drives (LDs) to monitor and validate data integrity and

identify and re-initialize unallocated chunklets, if necessary. This is a read-only process that induces

less than 5% CPU overhead. This background utility identifies possible data integrity issues and these

details are delivered to 3PAR Technical Support (HP 3TS) for investigation, evaluation, and appropriate

action.

NOTE: If systems with sustained high CPU utilization are present, consult 3PAR Technical Support

(HP 3TS) before implementing this patch.
