HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 Release Notes

of the shutdown. As with previous releases, an individual disk is spun down when it reaches its
thermal operating limit.
Node Shutdown
A single node is shut down when one of the thermal sensors within the node reports a critical
condition. This feature is available on HP StoreServ 7xxx Storage and HP StoreServ 10xxx Storage
systems.
System Turn on
On HP StoreServ 7xxx Storage and HP StoreServ 10xxx Storage systems, after a thermal shutdown
the systems are brought up automatically when the ambient temperature stays below system turn
on temperature for 30 minutes. For all other systems, the current procedure for manually turning
on a system is applicable.
Alternatively, when a single node is shut down for thermal reasons, the node is held down
indefinitely and manual intervention is required.
Options for HP 3PAR OS Software Upgrades
With the release of HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 and SP 4.2, HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 customers now have
two options for upgrading HP 3PAR OS software.
Customer Self Upgrade (CSU)
With the release of HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 and SP 4.2, HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 customers now have
the option of self-upgrades for HP 3PAR OS software. If HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 storage system
is still on HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2, contact HP or an HP authorized service provider to plan the HP 3PAR
OS SW Upgrade. After HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 storage system is upgraded to HP 3PAR OS

different methods to upgrade the HP 3PAR OS and SP software. HP recommends to use the SPOCC
