HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 Release Notes

DescriptionItemIssue ID
Add check to Remote Copy setrcopygroup reverse operation to
verify that the remote group is stopped before initiating the group
reverse.
Unsuccessful Remote Copy reverse
group operation does not detect that
the remote group failed to stop,
allowing the reverse to proceed on

the primary side resulting in
inconsistent group states.

to 3.1.1 the recovery might not complete successfully. As HP 3PAR OS
3.1.2 or 3.1.3 might not save the correct old version node replication
information, HP 3PAR OS cannot complete the recovery successfully.
This is resolved by adding a check on HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2 and 3.1.3
pfail save code path for online upgrade from HP 3PAR OS 3.1.1. This
enables saving of the replication information using old format which
can be read by HP 3PAR OS 3.1.1 correctly.
When the code reads the TOC, it is assumed that base VVs are always
entered before a snapshot. However, a conversion using the keepvv

option transfers the snapshots to a different base VV. The code is
modified so that the TOC can properly read the VVs in this scenario.
Online upgrades are not permitted if Peer Motion volumes are present
on the system. Peer Motion cannot be active during rolling upgrades.
Online upgrades from HP 3PAR OS
3.1.2 MU1 to HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3
are not supported.

Stop usage of Peer Motion during the online upgrade process
temporarily or perform an offline update.
The changes are made to the showspace command, a CPU intensive
operation, to balance the speed at which the operation runs with
accuracy.

link event such as shutdown (controlport offline) or reset (controlport
rst), then under certain circumstances, the request is not cleared by the
driver and it might result in a false positive timeout condition. This is
resolved by clearing such pending requests and thus eliminating the
false positive timeout condition.
This is resolved by starting the next exception table search from the
next snap difference location instead of the next chunk location.
Remote Copy Periodic

than the synchronization period.

A check for metadata consistency could leave behind a flag

the system. This is cleared.
Checkhealth warning regarding

is resolved.
