Retina Scan
The retina scan provides a new class of user to enable Retina Network Security Scanner and
Nessus Vulnerability Scanner to perform a credential, or local, scan of the HP 3PAR OS Linux file
system. Unless a user specifically wants to run a vulnerability scan, they will not be affected at all
by this change.

SSD drives have a limited write-life. This means that you can only write to SSD drives a set number
of times before they wear out. The writes for SSD drive DOPE1920S5xnNMRI is allotted one DWPD
(Drive Writes Per Day) over five years, allowing a total of 1,825 writes. A PE cycle (Program Erase)
is when a drive has completed a write on the entire drive. For example, a 1TB SSD drive will have
to have 1TB of data written to it before a single PE cycle is consumed. The factory tests all drives
prior to shipment which consumes some of the write cycles. The counter should drop from 100%
to 99% once 1% of the life has been used. The current algorithm drops 1% on the first PE cycle. This
will be corrected in the next release of the drive firmware.

Many of these alerts are caused by transient
conditions on the network such as dropped packets,
timeouts due to congestion, and so on. HP 3PAR OS
performs a number of retries before raising the alert.

In this process, one of the region mover values is not
