HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 Release Notes

HP 3PAR Remote Copy
HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 release provides greater scalability and flexibility to HP 3PAR Remote Copy
technologies. This release also provides the following benefits:
Greater scalability enabling 4x4 replication topologies
Increased scalability enabling more Virtual Volumes to be replicated
Support for up to four RCFC links and one RCIP link per node
HP 3PAR Federated Technologies
HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 continues to lead in Storage Federation. This release adds the following
enhancements to HP 3PAR Peer Motion technology:
Non-disruptive data migration for Microsoft Windows clustered environments
Peer Motion supports non-disruptive data migration for Microsoft Windows Server 2008, R2
and Microsoft Windows Server 2012, R2 Failover Clusters. The HP 3PAR source arrays can
be at HP 3PAR OS version 2.3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2, or 3.1.3. The HP 3PAR destination arrays
must be running a minimum of HP 3PAR OS version 3.1.3. The maximum size of Windows
clusters supported for non-disruptive data migration is four nodes. This feature is supported
on HP 3PAR Management Console platform.
Non-disruptive data migration for Linux clustered environments.
Peer Motion supports non-disruptive data migration for Red Hat clustered and SLES HA
environments on HP 3PAR source arrays running HP 3PAR OS version 2.3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2,
or 3.1.3 to HP 3PAR destination arrays running HP 3PAR OS version 3.1.3. To obtain more
information about supported configuration, see the Single Point of Connectivity Knowledge
for HP Storage Products (SPOCK) website:

Single Volume Migration
Peer Motion in HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 allows online migration of individual volumes exported to
a host. This eliminates the need to unzone a host from the source array and provide load
balancing by migrating only a subset of volumes assigned to the host from a source 3PAR
array. Both the source and destination arrays must be running HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3.
Support
HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 is the last major HP 3PAR OS release to support data migration via Peer
Motion with source systems running HP 3PAR OS 2.3.1.
HP 3PAR Online Import Enhancements
With HP 3PAR OS 3.1.3 release, HP 3PAR Online Import adds following enhancements:
Support for HP EVA FW XCS 11200000
Support for Linux clustered hosts
