Item Description
The extraction utility can take a
long time perform the
extraction process when
working with large databases.
The speed of extraction depends on the speed of the database.
Also, the current version of the extraction utility is a single
threaded application where the IO speed depends on the speed
of the destination disks.
Workaround:
Extract smaller chunks of data at a time.
The extraction utility can only
be run from a Server that has
System Reporter installed.
The extract utility is designed to execute from the server that
has system reporter installed. It uses the System Reporter
parameter file to execute.
Workaround:
None.
The files resulting from the
processing of the extraction
utility can be large.
The extracted files are store in ASCII files with line feed, tab and
spaces so the size of the extraction file can be much larger than
the data stored in the database.
Workaround:
None.
The Excel client is designed to
have a maximum of 30 sheets
open at a time.
This limitation has been set to avoid excel from hanging.
Workaround:
None.
The Excel client can hang in the
middle of some navigation.
This situation has been noted to happen when the Excel
Autosave begins, when the data being extracted is quite large,
or if the resources on the machine running the Excel client are
low.
Workaround:
No work around has been found other than wait for the
Autosave.
