Page 2 of memory and the database space needed. Instructions for using the spreadsheet are included in the spreadsheet. 3PAR InServ Storage Server Requirements • 2.2.4 and 2.3.1. releases of the InForm Operating System. • Adaptive Optimization is only supported for the 2.3.1 MU1 or later InForm Operating System. • The maximum CPG size supported when region data sampling is enabled for Adaptive Optimization is 250 TiB. • The maximum Adaptive Optimization configuration size is limited to 125 TiB.
Page 3 If you choose to use MySQL or Oracle instead of the default SQLite database, MySQL or Oracle must be installed and configured before installing the 3PAR System Reporter as described in Chapter 3, Installation, Configuration, Update, and Removal of the User Guide. You must install Apache 2.0 (or later) before installing the System Reporter. A binary installation package for Windows is included in the CD for your convenience. You may choose to download your own Apache package from www.apache.
Page 4 Item Description Adaptive Optimization improvements The following improvements were made to Adaptive Optimization algorithms: • In order to reduce extra data movement due to compactcpg calls after AO region moves are done, ‘compactcpg –trimonly’ is used when the CPG is not close to any of the limits and when the free space for each of the usr,sd spaces is less than 3 times the grow size.
Page 5 Item Description Several new alert Data Table options have been added. In order to provide a greater range of alerting options, several new Data Table options for Alert Rules have been added. These include: New alert metric total_utilperc added 320-200258 Rev A • statport_nodesum represents the sum of all the ports on a node. This allows you to generate alerts when nearing the limits of IOPs/s and bandwidth of a node. • statport_syssum represents the sum of all the ports on a InServ system.
Page 6 Item Description Improved installation on Windows The installer for Windows now checks if a previous instance of System Reporter is running. If the compactdb process is running it pops up a window that advises you to wait until the compactdb process completes, and then it exits. If compactdb is not running, it pops up a window saying that it will terminate the previous instance before installing a new version, and then it does so.
Page 7 Item Description An overflow message can be generated by the Build Report Menu for some reports with a large number of objects (such as LD space). Excel 2003 has the row limit set at 65,536. Excel 2007 has a maximum limit of 1,048,576 rows. If the data being retrieved from the database exceeds these limits, an overflow error occurs. Workaround: No workaround has been found for this problem except filtering the data to run smaller queries.
Page 8 Item Description The Excel client is designed to have a maximum of 30 sheets open at a time. This limitation has been set to avoid Excel from hanging. Workaround: None. The Excel client can hang in the middle of some navigation. This situation has been noted to happen when the Excel Autosave begins, when the data being extracted is quite large, or if the resources of the machine running the Excel client is low on resources.
