If you choose to use MySQL or Oracle instead of the default SQLite database, MySQL or Oracle must
be installed and configured before installing the 3PAR System Reporter as described in Chapter 3,
Installation, Configuration, Update, and Removal of the User Guide.
You must install Apache 2.0 (or later) before installing the System Reporter. A binary installation
package for Windows is included in the CD for your convenience. You may choose to download
your own Apache package from www.apache.org
Red Hat Linux includes packages for Apache.
Changes in System Reporter 2.8 since 2.7 MU1

New Excel client The Excel client has been completely overhauled so that its user
interface more closely resembles the web client.
New data extraction command
(sysbck)
A new data extraction command (sysbck) has been included. This
command allows you to extract a subset of the data from the
System Reporter database that can then be sent elsewhere
(3PAR support, for example) for detailed analysis. The subset
can be defined by specific begin and end times as well as specific
InServ systems.
CPG selection added to Adaptive
Optimization Report menu
For Region IO Density reports, the Adaptive Optimization Report
menu allows you to select one or more CPGs so that you can
restrict the report to only those CPGs. In addition to providing
more control, this addresses the performance of Region IO
Density reports for very large systems by allowing you to break
up the report into smaller reports each involving only a subset of
the CPGs.
