ProCurve Switch fl Redundant Power Supply
Removing a Power Supply
Removing a Power Supply
If your ProCurve Switch 8100fl is configured with redundant power supplies,
you will not suffer any loss of traffic or performance if a power supply fails.
Simply replace the failed component as soon as possible. The Power Status
LED on the chassis and on the power supply unit itself will indicate which
power supply has failed.
Not e The 16-slot Switch 8116fl requires two active power supplies at all time. The
8-slot Switch 8108fl chassis requires at least two active power supplies when
seven or more modules are installed.
To remove a power supply:
1. Ensure that the AC power supply is not plugged into an AC power source.
2. Insert a flat blade screwdriver (or similar lever device) into the indent
located on the bottom edge in the center of the handle.
3. Gently turn the screwdriver with the handle downward and lower the
power supply handle to its fully extended position.
4. Pull the handle to slide the power supply out of the chassis.
To install a new or replacement power supply, follow the procedure described
on
“Installation Procedure” on page 5.
