After a reboot (or switchDisable and switchEnable) only the remaining licenses appear:
If there are no license keys, licenseShow displays “No licenses.
Customizing a switch name
Switches can be identified by IP address, Domain ID, World Wide Name (WWN), or by customized
switch names that are unique and meaningful.
Version 4.0.0 (and later) switch names can be from 1 to 15 characters long, must begin with a letter, and
can contain letters, numbers, or the underscore character. It is not necessary to use quotation marks.
IMPORTANT: Only HP StorageWorks SAN products and switches listed in Table 1,”Switch model naming
matrix” on page 17 are available at the time of this document’s release. Check http://www.hp.com
for
latest product updates.
The default name for the following switches is swd77:
HP StorageWorks 4/16 SAN Switch and 4/8 SAN Switch
SAN Switch 2/8V
SAN Switch 2/16V
SAN Switch 2/32
SAN Switch 4/32
4/64 SAN Switch
4/32B SAN Switch
400 MP Router
SAN Director 2/128
4/256 SAN Director
NOTE: Changing the switch name causes a domain address format Registered State Change Notification
(RSCN) to be issued, and in older versions of the Fabric OS may be disruptive to the fabric.
How to customize the switch name
1. HP StorageWorks 4/16 SAN Switch and 4/8 SAN Switch, SAN Switch 2/8V, SAN
Switch 2/16V, SAN Switch 2/32, SAN Switch 4/32, 4/64 SAN Switch, 4/32B SAN
Switch, 400 MP Router, and 4/256 SAN Director: Proceed to the next step.
HP StorageWorks SAN Director 2/128: Open a telnet window for each logical switch and enter
the switchName command.
2. Connect to the switch and log in as admin.
3. HP StorageWorks 4/16 SAN Switch and 4/8 SAN Switch, SAN Switch 2/8V, SAN
Switch 2/16V, SAN Switch 2/32, SAN Switch 4/32, 4/256 SAN Director, 4/64 SAN
Switch, and 400 MP Router: Proceed to the next step.
HP StorageWorks SAN Director 2/128: If configured for one domain (the default) proceed to
the next step. If configured with two domains, proceed to step 6.
4. Enter the switchName command at the command line, using the following syntax:
