different from the network hostname, use the omnirc variable
EVA_HOSTNAMEALIASES to define the backup system object name.
Cluster environment:
If the backup system is a cluster virtual server, configure host objects using Command
View in such a way that only one cluster node is configured in one host object.
Additionally, set the variable EVA_HOSTNAMEALIASES to the appropriate host object
on each cluster node.
For more information on the variable, see “ZDB omnirc variables” on page 106.
Maintaining the integration
Maintenance tasks are divided into the following categories:
• Querying information. See “Querying SMISDB” on page 26.
• Checking consistency. See “Checking SMISDB for consistency” on page 26.
• Deleting backup sessions. See “Purging SMISDB” on page 27 and
“Deleting replicas on the disk array and SMISDB Entries” on page 27.
• Excluding and including backup sessions. See
“Excluding or including sessions from use” on page 27
Querying SMISDB
Using the omnidbsmis command, you can list:
• All available backup sessions
• All backup sessions based on a specific backup specification
• All backup sessions that are excluded from the replica set rotation
• Obsolete volumes marked for purging
• Disk group redirection configuration
• Sets of retained source volumes, kept for forensic purposes after instant recovery
• Details on a specific successful backup session and a report about all backup
sessions based on a specific backup specification.
See the omnidbsmis man page for command syntax and examples.
Checking SMISDB for consistency
Checks the persistent data in the SMISDB against the EVA storage system and lists
the differences. Note that this option cannot detect whether the EVA configuration is
