Description

Fabric OS 5.2.3 is a maintenance release that contains ﬁxes since the release of 5.2.2a. HP did not

release 5.2

.2 and released 5.2.2a to a limited group of users ( not a general release). Please note, these

release not

es document all ﬁxes since the 5.2 .1b release.

Update recommendations

This release is targeted towards customers who are not yet prepared to upgrade to a 5.3.x release. For

those customers, it is recommended to upgrade to this 5.2.3 release. For other customers, upgrading to

thelatest5.3.xreleaseishighlyrecommendedinordertogetthebeneﬁt of further features and ﬁxes (see

latest Fabric OS 5.3 .x release notes for details). Note that HP is not supporting Fabric OS 5.2.3 on the

blade switch for c-Class BladeSystem (see Supported product models for speciﬁc support.)

Consider the following before upgrading:

• If upgrading from Fabric OS 5.1.x, install Fabric OS 5.2.3 before installing the latest por t and

intelligent blades in the 4/256 Director.

• If upgrading from Fabric OS 5.1.x with switches running 2.6.x in the fabric, upgrading to 5.2.3 is

not supported unless 2.6.x switches are separated by a router.
