HP 3PAR Cluster Extension Software 2.00.00 Release Notes for Linux (5697-2049, June 2012)

Notes
The package start will fail on the alternative nodes for any scenario where the package (with
volume group module configured) does not get a chance to halt and the cluster status of
previous owner node is not failed. Since the volume group tags would be left, they have to
be cleared manually (see package logs for the steps). This is intentional to bring manual
intervention to avoid any data corruption issues. For more information see Managing HP
Serviceguard for Linux on the HP High Availability website http://docs.hp.com/en/ha.html.
Manual intervention is required to bring the package online on the cluster nodes in the other
data center when the package failover is triggered manually (owning node is alive) in the
state when HP 3PAR Remote Copy link is down. See the package logs for the steps to bring
the package online.
For achieving automated failover to next preferred node in case of disk access loss at the
package owning node, you must set the HP Serviceguard cluster software property in the
package configuration file service_fail_fast_enabled to yes. For more information
see Managing HP Serviceguard for Linux on the HP High Availability website http://
docs.hp.com/en/ha.html.
After you install a permanent license key on a cluster node, ensure the instant-on license is
removed. For instructions, see Removing an instant-on license key in the HP 3PAR Cluster
Extension Software Installation Guide.
Prerequisites
Coexistence of HP 3PAR Cluster Extension with HP EVA Cluster Extension and HP XP Cluster
Extension on the same system is not supported.
In order to install a permanent license using the AutoPass GUI tool, ensure that you have Java
runtime environment 1.5.x or 1.6.x installed on the system and that the supported version of
"java" executable is called using the PATH variable.
See the HP Serviceguard for Linux Certification Matrix for detailed information on supported
configurations with HP Serviceguard. The HP Serviceguard for Linux Certification Matrix can
be found at http://www.hp.com/info/sglx
