Support for LTO5 Tape Drives
LTO5 tape drives are fully supported. LTO5 drives support up to 8 Gbps port speeds.
Drive Upgrade Wizard Supports LTO5
The dynamic drive upgrade wizard (introduced in 2.5) has been extended so that LTO2 and
LTO3 drives can be upgraded to either LTO4 or LTO5 drives.
Dynamic Upgrade of LTO4 to LTO5 drives
LTO4 drives can be dynamically upgraded to LTO5 drives without the need for the drive upgrade
wizard.
TapeAssure Data Collection Extended
TapeAssure data is now being collected for MSL G3 LTO drives and standalone LTO tape drives
(minimum hardware and firmware requirements apply).
TapeAssure Support for Media
Utilization and other advanced health statistics are now being tracked for media. The data is
viewable from the TapeAssure tab via the Command View TL user interface under the new node
named “Tapes.
Operating system support
Extended support for the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64
bit, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 32/64 bit, and VMware 3.5 and 4.0 with the
supported operating systems.
Email Notification of alerts
Command View can now be configured to send email notifications when critical and/or serious
alerts are generated.
Command View’s library status
The status of a library will change based on the TapeAssure data collected regarding the drives.
