• Dynamic mapping of hosts could fail while heavy backups in progress Modified the time-out and
priority level for dynamic host mapping to allow dynamic host mapping to complete during periods
of heavy backup activity.
• Fixed several communications issues and memory loss problems in Interface Manager command
line interface The Interface Manager would start out unable to telnet, or the Command View TL
user interface would have library communications issues. Multiple occurrences of app_UI_CLI
would show up in the response of ps -ef in the Interface Manager support ticket. Also the free
memory would decrease. This was caused by closing command line interface sessions when users
responses were outstanding. This has been fixed.
• Improved performance by consolidating host groups Instead of having a map per host. If the maps
were the same over multiple hosts it would Consolidate those hosts into one map. This increases
the performance of mapping commands when lots of hosts are in the list of hosts.
• Ability to change LTO4 host table under load Mapping hosts to LTO4 drive under backup conditions
could fail cause EMF exceptions. This has been fixed.
• Command line interface shows media slots as empty and returning EMF errors Command View
for Tape Libraries and command line interface on EML library had been showing media slots as
empty that were not, and returning EMF errors. In some instances, this may have been caused by
labels that did not end in L1, L2, L3, or L4. This has been corrected.

Workarounds
Remote Support Test Alert from CVTL GUI error
Symptom: An error occurs while sending an Insight Remote Support Test Alert from the CVTL GUI
Administrator→Send Insight Remote Support.
Test Alert.
Workaround: After complete installation of Command View TL , restart Command View TL service to
receive Test Alerts when set from CVTL GUI Administrator→Send Insight Remote Support

Data verification result “The test requires a tape to be loaded prior to it being run”
Symptom: The data verification result is “The test requires a tape to be loaded prior to it being run.
Please load the tape to be verified and re-run the test.”
Workaround: Perform the following steps:
1. Launch Command View Tape Library and Manage the ESL G3 library.
2. Login to the ESL G3 Library Management Console.
3. Verify media event details for any media alerts and take corrective actions.
4. Run the data verification test again.

Data verification Test Setup Details screen does not refresh
Symptom: After tapes are added to the queue, the Test Setup Details screen does not refresh and tapes
added to the queue continue to show in the Tapes in Partition window.
Workaround: Manually refresh the screen using the Refresh button.
