HP StoreEver Command View for Tape Libraries (CVTL) v. 3.7 and Interface Manager Firmware v I274 Release Notes

Install of Command View for Tape Libraries 2.50 fails during database install
Symptom: During install of Command View for Tape Libraries 2.50, a pop-up dialog appears stating
that installation of the database has failed.
Workaround: This can be caused if Cygwin is installed on the machine and appears in the Path
environment variable. If this is the cause of the failure, it can be fixed by temporarily removing Cygwin
from the Path and attempting the install again as follows:
1. Right-click the My Computer icon.
2. Select the Properties menu item. A System Properties dialog will open.
3. If Cygwin appears in the PATH environment in either the User variables or the System variables,
remove it.
4. Select the Advanced tab and click on the Environment Variables button. An Environment Variables
dialog will open.
5. If Cygwin appears in the PATH environment in either the User variables or the System variables,
remove it.
6. Save your changes and click OK to exit both the Environment Variables and System Property
windows.
7. Re-install Command View for Tape Libraries 2.50.
Once Command View for Tape Libraries has been successfully installed, the Cygwin path may be
re-inserted into the PATH environment variable.
Found in version: 2.50
Restore configuration intermittently fails
Symptom: Restore configuration can sometimes fail. The cause appears to be timing related.
Workaround: Restore defaults on the library, then retry the restore configuration operation.
Found in version: 2.4.00
Six-month service passwords are invalid for Interface Manager firmware I182 (ESL9000)
and I231 or lower
Symptom: The 6–month service password does not allow access to the code.
Workaround: Use the 20–day temporary password. The 6–month service passwords became invalid
on February 1, 2009.
Found in version: I182, I231 and lower
Command line interface shows media slots as empty and returns EMF errors
Symptom: For ESL E-Series libraries, the command Show Media Slots in the Command View for Tape
Libraries or command line interface returns a message that the slot is empty.
Workaround: If the LMS is down, rebooting the library should cause the slot contents to be found. If
library smart media was just replaced, restore the defaults on the OCP.
Found in version: 2.32 and 2.4.00
Connectivity errors 8099 because of netstat issues
Symptom: netstat -ea has duplicate foreign addresses causing connectivity errors 8099. To diagnose
this, pull an Interface Manager support ticket from the command line interface and look at the contents
of 'netstat -ae' section. If there are duplicates in the Foreign address column, use the workaround.
Workaround: Reboot the Interface Manager.
Found in version: 2.3.02 and 2.4.00
