Upgrading an ESL E-Series library from 6.20 to any revision reports a timeout error
Symptom: Performing a library upgrade on an ESL E-Series library when using version 6.20 will report
a timeout error. This error will be seen whether using Command View for Tape Libraries or the Interface
Manager command line interface.
Workaround: Ignore this message and wait another 15 minutes. Reboot your Interface Manager and
verify that the correct version is reported. The upgrade should have occurred successfully.

Support ticket viewing problems on Windows machines with high security settings
Symptom: Viewing support tickets in Command View for Tape Libraries does not allow you to click
on any of the tree nodes to expand them. In addition, the new browser window that contains the
support ticket is not sized correctly to display the entire contents.
Workaround: Internet Explorer security settings will have to be modified to allow your management
station more privileged access. Simply go to your Internet Options, select the Security tab, click on the
Sites button, enter your management station's IP address, and click on the Add button. You may need
to close any open support tickets and view them again.

Red LED on the new Interface Manager board does not illuminate
Symptom: The Red LED on new Interface Manager boards (Part number: 340252-003) does not
illuminate during error conditions. In general, the Red LED should blink if a hardware failure is detected
when the Interface Manager boots (missing flash card, missing RAM, etc.).
Workaround: Check alert logs to determine if a hardware failure is detected.

Cannot see files with the 'dir' command in FTP
Symptom: Running the 'dir' command when connected to the Interface Manager via FTP does not
display any files (firmware, support tickets, saved configurations, etc.).
Workaround: Use the ls or nlist command instead to see a listing of files.

Cannot communicate with EML E-Series library at a 192.168.2.x IP address
Symptom: After changing the IP address on an EML E-Series library (either manually or through DHCP)
to a 192.168.2.x address, difficulties in communication are seen when using Command View for
Tape Libraries or the front panel.
Workaround: Use a slightly different network such as 192.168.1.x or 192.168.3.x.

Inventory is slow to update after accessing load ports or closing the door
Symptom: Moving tapes when accessing the load ports or through the library door can take up to 30
minutes to be reflected on the Interface Manager (and through Command View for Tape Libraries).
Workaround: Wait 30 minutes for the inventory to refresh. Alternatively, the refresh of inventory can
be forced by a reboot of the Interface Manager (not recommended).
