HP StoreEver Command View for Tape Libraries (CVTL) v. 3.7 and Interface Manager Firmware v I274 Release Notes

component. No Host Access (Secure Manager) mapping operations can be performed due to the
Critical status.
Workaround: Unfortunately, the only workaround is to restore to system defaults. You will have to
re-enter any Host Access (Secure Manager) mapping information and Interface Controller connection
properties.
Found in version: 2.0 (and above)
Cannot replace an E2400FC-4G Interface Controller with an E2400FC
Symptom: When using the Hardware Replacement Wizard in Command View for Tape Libraries or
the "replace interface" command in the command line interface, an E2400FC Interface Controller
does not show up as a valid replacement for an E2400FC-4G Interface Controller configured for
4gbps port speeds.
Workaround: The hardware replacement feature on the Interface Manager does not display Interface
Controllers that do not support the previous port speed as a valid replacement. If your E2400FC-4G
Interface Controller is configured for 4gbps port speeds, you will have to replace it with another
E2400FC-4G Interface Controller.
Found in version: 2.0 (and above)
Un-mapped Host/HBA names lost after a migration to 2.0
Symptom: The custom Host/HBA names for un-mapped hosts entered in previous releases are lost
when migrating to 2.0. The Host/HBA names default back to the WWN.
Workaround: No known workaround at this time. The lost names will have to be re-entered in 2.0.
Found in version: All versions of 2.x
Using certain characters in the support ticket name field can generate an error
Symptom: Using certain characters in the support ticket name field of the Support Ticket Wizard can
cause the operation to fail.
Workaround: Avoid using characters in the support ticket name field that your operating system does
not support in file or directory names.
Found in version: All versions since 1.5.05
General considerations and problems related to the save and restore system configuration
feature
Symptom: The save and restore system configuration features allow you to backup the configuration
of the Interface Manager and Interface Controllers in your library. HP recommends that you do not
attempt to restore older configurations after certain changes have been made:
Firmware updates on the Interface Manager or any of the Interface Controllers
Physical replacement of any of the Interface Controllers
Workaround: After any of the above operations have been performed, HP recommends saving new
configurations which you can restore to at a later date.
Found in version: 2.0 (and above)
Cannot change load port configuration after creating partitions
Symptom: When partitions are defined for an ESL E-Series or EML E-Series library, the ability to modify
the load port configuration from the front panel is disabled.
Workaround: Load port configuration cannot be modified when partitions are defined. If you wish to
modify the load port configuration, use Command View for Tape Libraries to remove all of your
partitions. The ability to modify the load port configuration should be enabled. If not, please add back
