“HP StorageWorks CIM Object Manager” service not started after a custom installation
of Command View TL with SMI-S Tape provider selected
Symptom: Install Command View TL in custom mode with SMI-S Tape provider selected. The “HP
StorageWorks CIM Object Manager service is not started. When starting the service manually, the
following warning appears: The HP StorageWorks CIM Object Manager service on
Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services top automatically
if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts
service.
Workaround:
1. In Notepad, open the file C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\SMI-S\CXWSCimom\
config\Cxws.properties
2. Update the port numbers for cxws.http.port and cxws.https.port with the port numbers
that are not used by any application. For example,
cxws.http.port=15988
cxws.https.port=15989
3. Save the Cxws.properties file.
4. Start the HP Storageworks CIM Object Manager service.
Command View TL 2.6.00 and above cannot add manual hosts to a library with Interface
Manager firmware version I232
Symptom: The host does not appear in the list of hosts after it is manually added.
Workaround: Do one of the following:
Add the host from the CLI.
If you are using Advanced Secure Manager, use the CLI to unmap the host and then use Command
Advance Secure Manager to add it.
Found in version: 2.6.00 and newer
TapeAssure tickets are not being pulled if the Interface Manager clock is losing too much
time
Symptom: TapeAssure tickets are only pulled if the media has been in the drive 15 minutes or longer.
If the clock is losing or not changing time, the TapeAssure tickets might not be pulled.
Workaround: The Interface Manager card may need to be replaced. The battery on the IM card could
also be replaced but there is no FRU.
TapeAssure tickets are not being pulled if the Interface Manager has set support disabled
time
Symptom: TapeAssure tickets are only pulled if the media has been in the drive 15 minutes or longer
and the support ticket policy is enabled. To see the setting of the support ticket policy use the show
support command.
Workaround: The Interface Manager card command set support enabled has to be run and
then the command reboot mgmt to apply the setting.
Internal error reported during Key Manager configuration
Symptom: A task to add, update, or un-enroll new Key Manager configurations reports an internal
error with the description: The operation has failed. One or more subtasks has an
error.
