Examining the System Configuration
2 Examining the System Configuration
This chapter describes the issues that you must examine before creating a system in the
configuration evaluated based on ISO/IEC 15408 for HP StorageWorks XP Command View
Advanced Edition Common Component.
Hardware Configuration (See section 2-1 )
Software Configuration (See section 2-2 )
2-1 Hardware Configuration
The system described in this guide has the following hardware configuration.
Figure 2-1 Hardware Configuration
In the figure, physical wiring and devices are indicated by an unbroken line. Shading indicates the
locked application server area such as a center.
Management server, application servers, storages, and peripherals are installed in the
application server area. Entry and exit by visitors are restricted.
Management server, storages, and peripherals are connected to the management network.
Application servers, storages, and peripherals are connected to the application network. Both
networks are protected from the outside by a firewall. The management network and
application network inside the firewall are collectively called the internal network. A network
outside the firewall is called an external network.
Storages that belong to both networks have two independent NICs. One NIC is connected to
the management network, and the other NIC is connected to the application network. The
management network and the application network are therefore separated and do not interfere
with each other.
