For information about precautions to take when changing a volume configuration, see Precautions

Even if there are pair volumes created in the storage system, you cannot use them unless they have
RAID Manager configurations defined on the host.
For an environment that uses virtual command device as a command device, start the RAID Manager
instances on the virtual command device server before executing Application Agent CLI so that
the virtual command device is in a state that can be used. Since Application Agent CLI itself does
not activate nor stop the RAID Manager instances on the virtual command device server, when
Application Agent CLI is executed but the virtual command device is in a state that cannot be used,
an error will occur.
If an error occurs, check the log file for RAID Manager on the server where Application Agent CLI
was executed and confirm that the cause of the error is the virtual command device (\\.\IP-
