Version 7.1.1-01 Description This package contains an upgrade of the HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Software Device Manager server, agent, and GUI. Any updates to these release notes are available on the HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Software website: http://www.hp.com/support/cvae/manuals Update recommendation Routine NOTE: Installing the Device Manager 7.1.1-01 installs Tiered Storage Manager 7.1.1-01 automatically. Installing the Tiered Storage Manager 7.1.
• The Smart Tier function in the P9500 now supports a function for manually monitoring smart pools and relocating data. • The Device Manager function for adding hosts now supports a feature for adding multiple IP addresses by copying and pasting. • Device Manager now supports a plug-in module that makes it possible to use provisioning and unprovsioning on a Virtualization Server.
Fixes • The No Copy option was ignored when copy pairs were added to Continuous Access Journal copy group from the Replication Manager GUI. • When the Select pool button was selected in a Create Volumes dialog box or an Allocate Volumes dialog box, displaying the Select pool dialog box might have taken several minutes. If displaying the Select pool dialog box took over 5 minutes, the KAIC16902-E error occurred and the operation could not continue.
• If the CIM/WBEM function was used to acquire ObjectPath for the following classes, property values were invalid: ◦ InstanceID of HITACHI_AuthorizedPrivilege ◦ InstanceID of HITACHI_StorageHardwareID ◦ SystemName of HITACHI_StorageVolume • If a THP volume in a P9500 storage system was expanded, a subscription limit excess error (KAIC7533-E) might occur, even though the specified pool subscription did not exceed the subscription limit.
• An attempt to delete the host was not successful and generated the KAIC15316-E error. • An attempt to edit the LUN paths was not successful and generated the KAIC15000-E error. • If you upgraded the P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite, the version of Host Data Collector or Application Agent available from the download screen might be a version older than your current version.
Replication Manager Application Agent: • In Replication Manager Application Agent earlier than 6.4.0-00: When using VMware 4.0 or later, configure the backup server on a non-virtual machine. • In Replication Manager Application Agent 6.4.0-00 or later: Database servers configured on a virtual machine are supported if VMware 4.0 or later is used. Backup servers configured on a virtual machine are supported if all of the following conditions are met: ◦ The backup target is SQL Server.
When modifying them, use the Add Resource Groups dialog box, the Edit Roles dialog box, or the Remove Resource Groups dialog box in the resource group details window. Expanding THP Volumes When selecting some THP volumes and specifying a value for the New Capacity in the Expand THP Volumes dialog, an unexpected error (KAIC16009-E) might be displayed. In this case, log in again if needed, reduce the number of specified THP Volumes, and retry the operation.
The sudo function for Host Data Collector • When using sudo to register or refresh Unix hosts, the following error message might be output repeatedly: ERR_1202 : Unable to copy all the files to the remote server. (Remote server: "IP address of target host", Cause: Error during SCP transfer.) In this case, delete the following files from the /tmp directory, and then retry the operation: • ◦ SupportedOs.txt ◦ FsDataGather.* ◦ FsDataGatherLauncher.Unix.
Using Host Data Collector to register Unix hosts If a user who is using a login shell other than the default shell registers or refreshes hosts, the operation might fail with the error ERR_1310. The user must use the default login shell.
If this happens, and then the Search button is clicked, the displayed search results might differ from the saved search conditions. This issue occurs when either of the following conditions is met: • A resource for which the user does not have the view permission is specified for the saved search criteria. • Resources have been deleted from the saved search criteria. Do not save search conditions containing a resource that a user cannot view.
4. Import the database. 1. Execute the hcmdsdbtrans command to import the databases: \Component\bin\hcmdsdbtrans /import /workpath /file /type ALL /auto 2. Specify true for the server.base.initialsynchro property on the Device Manager server. Other than user information, the hcmdsdbtrans command does not migrate the Common Component repository.
Creating logical groups When the OK button is continuously clicked in the Create Logical Group dialog box, logical groups that have the same name might be created. In this case, delete the extra names. Upgrading Command View Advanced Edition to 7.1.0, or importing Command View Advanced Edition 7.0.0 database When either of the following conditions is met, the KAIC16029-E message might be displayed. • Command View Advanced Edition 7.0.0 is upgraded to Command View Advanced Edition 7.1.0.
Registering a Solaris 10 host by using Host Data Collector A zpool_history_-<1– to 6–digit number>.rst file with a file size of 0 bytes is created in the /tmp directory on the Solaris 10 host when you: • Register a host, or update host information. • Have a ZFS pool name that is longer than 98 bytes. When you run the target host log gathering tool (TLC), the file zpool_history_-<1– to 6–digit number>.rst and the file -<1– to 6–digit number>.
Virtual Parity Group information Virtual Parity Group information is not displayed in the volume list. Check the Virtual Parity Group information from the Detailed Information dialog box for each volume.
• THP Vols: Filesystem Used % • Pool Configuration: No. of Parity Groups • Pool Configuration: Total Capacity • Tier Configuration: Tier No.
Displaying of Host Data Collector When using host discovery with Host Data Collector, the following information cannot be displayed correctly: • IPv6 address in Windows 2008 German Edition. • IPv6 address in Solaris and HP-UX environments if IPv4 address specified by a user for registering host is an alias IP address. • IPv6 address in a Linux environment if more than 2 IPv6 addresses are assigned to one interface. • IPv6 address in a non-English edition of Windows 2008 (such as Japanese).
2 Under the SSL configuration for Device Manager Server HiKeytool menu, the operation in submenu 14. Logical groups list When multiple filter conditions are specified for the logical groups list, only the first condition is effective. If multiple filter conditions are required, repeat filtering one at a time, cumulatively.
When the Allocate Volumes dialog box is launched from the Smart pool screen, and the Show Plan button is clicked, the KAIC15294-E error occurs if the volume capacity specified is less than the minimum value. If this occurs, specify a volume capacity that is larger than the minimum value displayed in the dialog box. Created volumes capacity When you allocate or create volumes and you do not use whole numbers to specify the capacity, the volumes might not be created with the specified capacity.
Changing a storage system configuration When changing the configuration while refreshing information about an XP or P9500 storage system, the KAIC05000-E error might appear. If this occurs, retry the configuration changes. Installation directory for UNIX Do not install Command View Advanced Edition Suite in the following directories: • /usr • /usr/local • /var If Device Manager earlier than 7.0.
As a result, naming or changing pool name in Remote Web Console is not reflected to Device Manager. In addition, a THP pool identifier is "THP" (prefix) and the THP pool identifier number in Device Manager. Meanwhile, it is THP pool name (arbitrary) and the THP pool identifier number in Remote Web Console. Therefore, verify the numbers included in each of the THP pool identifiers to associate the THP pool on Device Manager with the one on Remote Web Console. The server.dispatcher.daemon.autoSynchro.
Loading a Plug-in for Virtualization Server Provisioning window A dialog box with the message Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? might be displayed while the Plug-in for Virtualization Server Provisioning was used. If this occurs, select the Cancel button on the dialog box. Displaying the Plug-in for Virtualization Server Provisioning hosts for the first time When VMware vCenter Server 4.

Host Data Collector service If the Bourne shell is used to install Host Data Collector or to start the service, logging out of the management server causes the Host Data Collector service to stop. Therefore, use a shell other than the Bourne shell to install Host Data Collector or start the service.
Using the Device Manager agent on the VMware ESX Server 4.x or VMware ESXi Server 4.x guest operating system When using the Device Manager agent to manage copy pairs on the VMware ESX Server 4.x or VMware ESXi Server 4.x guest operating system, the following behaviors might occur if creating or deleting a copy pair from the GUI: • Even after a copy pair is created, the copy type of the target volumes remains unpaired.
3. 4. The IP address of the host that manages S-VOL is resolved by the host itself. The IP address that DNS resolves from the name of the host that manages S-VOL described in the configuration definition file of the host that manages P-VOL. Error message KAIC07996-E If the KAIC07996-E error appears, check both the P-VOL and S-VOL. However, you need to check only the S-VOL if the P-VOL is a THP volume in a P9500 or XP24000/XP20000 (microcode: 60-02-48-XX/XX or later).
