1. If SMTP authentication is enabled, use the hdvmmodmailuser command to register an SMTP
authentication user account in Device Manager.
2. If necessary, customize the email template.
3. Stop and then restart the Command View Advanced Edition Suite product services.

Switching the JDK
To use Oracle Sun JDK 5 (1.5.0) or Oracle Sun JDK 6 (1.6.0) instead of the bundled one, add its
java.exe to the Windows Firewall exceptions list manually if the Windows Firewall is enabled.
Launching Element Manager by using a 32-bit browser in a 64-bit Windows environment
To launch Element Manager from an XP12000, XP10000, SVS200, XP1024, or XP128 with a 32-bit
browser in a 64-bit Windows environment, install the 32-bit java plug-in, and then set the value in the
storage system manually to 32-bit java plug-in.
If an error message such as an out-of-memory error is displayed and Element Manager cannot be
launched, check the settings of the 32-bit Java plug-in.
Using Host Data Collector to register Windows hosts on a Solaris or Linux server
If using Host Data Collector on a Solaris or Linux server to register or refresh a Windows host and the
message ERR_1202 is displayed, retry registering or refreshing the host.
ERR_1202 : Unable to copy all the files to the remote server. (Remote
server: <IP_ADDRESS_OF_TARGET_HOST>, Cause: session setup failed: Call
timed out: server did not respond after 20000 milliseconds Receiving SMB:
Server stopped responding)
Upgrading Host Data Collector in Windows
If Host Data Collector is upgraded in a Windows environment in which the path of the environment
variable tmp includes characters other than the following, Host Data Collector does not start:
A-Z a-z 0-9 space ~@#$^&()_+{}`-=[]'.,%!,
In this case, before upgrading Host Data Collector, or if Host Data Collector has already been
upgraded, uninstall it as described, and then install it again:
1. Open Command Prompt.
2. Execute the following command:
<installation-directory-of-Device-Manager>\Host Data
Collector\Uninstall_Host Data Collector\Uninstall Host Data
Collector.exe
If Host Data Collector is upgraded without removing it first, remove Host Data Collector according
to the previous procedure, and then install Host Data Collector again.
Using Host Data Collector to register Windows hosts
To use the WMI protocol to register Windows hosts with Host Data Collector, specify the firewall
settings on the target hosts to allow WMI so that the WMI protocol can be used from the host on which
Host Data Collector is installed.
Executing tasks
If an operation (such as the user is locked, the user's permissions are changed, or the user is deleted)
is performed to the user who registers a task, the task execution is not cancelled. Likewise, even if the
