KAIC15001-E error message in the GUI
If the GUI displays the KAIC15001-E error message, startup of Device Manager might not have
completed successfully. The following might be the cause:
Ports required to start Device Manager are used by other processes.
Verify the ports described in the Port settings of the HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View Advanced
Edition Suite Software Administrator Guide are not being used by other processes.
Using Device Manager to manage a virtual machine
When Device Manager manages a virtual machine, the characters of the machine name in the following
appear as encoded characters:
In the GUI:
The value of VMname displayed in a virtual machine name subwindow
In the CLI:
The name attribute values for VM instances that are collected by executing the GetHost command.

Device Manager server hostname
Installing Device Manager fails if the hostname of the Device Manager server is not resolvable. Note
that the hostname is resolvable into its IP address because the Device Manager installer sets the default
hostname. If the hostname is not resolvable, specify an IP address when you install Device Manager.
Device Manager server loopback address
Running the Device Manager GUI does not complete correctly after the installation if the IP address
127.0.0.1 is not assigned as the loopback address in the Device Manager server machine. In Windows,
running the GUI from the Start menu also does not complete correctly. Check if 127.0.0.1 is assigned
as the loopback address. Type the URL for accessing Command View Advanced Edition into a web
browser to run the GUI.
Adding a host that has multiple IP addresses by Host Data Collector
When adding a host with multiple IP addresses to the Device Manager server, the first IP address
registered in the Device Manager server is added to the host. At this time, error messages are displayed
for IP addresses other than the first one. Ignore the error messages.
The unallocate volumes dialog box
If the target volume is deleted during the unallocate volume operation, the KAIC43001-E message
might appear.
If this occurs, open the unallocate volumes dialog and retry deleting the target volume.
Registering and refreshing hosts
The KAIC169001-E message might appear when communications between Host Data Collector and
target multiple hosts are not successful in registering or refreshing hosts.
