4. Confirm that the settings are specified correctly by using either of the following methods:
When using the GUI:
In the Refresh Storage Systems window, select the Refresh Performance data check box, and
then refresh the storage system. After that, in the Data Collection Tasks tab, confirm that
Completed is displayed for Status of the Refresh Storage Systems task.
When using the CLI:
Execute the RefreshPerformanceData command, and confirm that the command finished
successfully.
Prerequisites for launching the PA GUI
Tiered Storage Manager allows you to launch the PA GUI window from the Mobility tab, and then
check the performance information for both LDEVs and parity groups from a PA GUI window.
To launch the PA GUI window, PA must have been set up. For details on the system requirements and
how to set up PA, see the manual for PA.
To configure environment settings required for Tiered Storage Manager server:
1. Stop the P9000 Command View AE Suite product services.
In Windows:
Select Start > All Programs > HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite > Manage
Services > Stop.
In Linux:
installation-directory-of-Common-Component/bin/hcmdssrv -stop
2. Specify the protocol, host name or IP address, and port number in the PA URL for the following
properties in the client.properties file of Device Manager:
client.launch.HPPA.report.protocol property
client.launch.HPPA.report.host property
client.launch.HPPA.report.port property
TIP:
To launch the PA GUI from Tiered Storage Manager in Legacy mode, you must set the above
properties in the Tiered Storage Manager client.properties file.
The format of a PA URL is as follows:
protocol://host-name-or-IP-address:port-number/pa/CVAE
3. Start the P9000 Command View AE Suite product services.
