<P9000-Tiered-Storage-Manager-installation-folder>\PATCHLOG.TXT. This file
is deleted when the regular or corrected version of the product is installed.
• • Do not click the mouse while applying the service pack. If some mouse clicks are done, the
message patch update is not responding appears on a pop-up dialog box. In this case,
leave it as it is until it disappears automatically, and the service pack will be applied successfully.
Upgrade procedure
1. Make sure that the installed Tiered Storage Manager server is the version shown below:
7.1.0-00 to 7.1.0-01
2. Create a backup of the database.
For details on how to create a backup of the database, see the HP StorageWorks XP Tiered
Storage Manager Software Administrator Guide.
3. Stop the following services:
• Tiered Storage Manager server
• Device Manager server
• Command View Advanced Edition Suite Common Component
For details on how to stop these services, see the HP StorageWorks P9000 Command View
Advanced Edition Suite Software Administrator Guide.
4. Execute the Service Pack.
When the Service Pack is executed, the Self-Extractor dialog box appears.
5. Click the Install button.
When the applicable product is found, a dialog box appears asking whether you want to update
the version of the product. To start the update, click the Update button.
