If you attempt to install Device Manager whose version or revision is earlier than the already
installed Device Manager, an upgrade error message for Device Manager is displayed, and the
installation is interrupted.
7. When the Common Component services are running in a non-cluster environment, a message
indicating that the installer will stop these services is displayed. If you want to stop the
installation, enter n. If you want to continue the installation, enter y.
If any processing is in progress in other XP Command View AE Suite products, the installer
might fail to stop the services of XP Command View AE Suite Common Component and the
XP Command View AE Suite products. In this case, a message indicating that the installer
failed to stop the services is displayed. If this message is displayed, choose y to try to stop the
services again. If the installer still fails to stop the services, cancel the installation, manually
stop the services of Common Component and the XP Command View AE Suite, and then
perform the installation again.
8. A message asking whether you want to back up the database or export the database is
displayed. If you want to back up or export the database, enter y to start the backup or export. If
you do not want to back up or export, enter n to continue. This operation backs up or exports all
XP Command View AE Suite product databases. The directory for storing backup data depends
on the installation directory of XP Command View AE Suite Common Component as shown in
the following table. Before you choose y to start a backup operation, make sure that the
directory for storing backup data is on a disk that has sufficient free space.
The following table lists the messages displayed for the backup and export operations, and
shows the conditions under which the message appears, the data storage destination
directory, and the required disk space.

Component is installed in the default installation directory.
CAUTION: If the data storage destination directory already exists before backing up or exporting,
the contents of the data storage destination directory are deleted. Before deletion, a deletion
confirmation message is displayed. If you want to save the old data, you need to copy it to another
location beforehand, and then choose y in the deletion confirmation message.
