CAUTION: If you manually perform a backup or export operation, you can specify the directory in
which the backup or export data will be stored. If a backup or export operation during installation
fails, the installation stops. If the installation has stopped under these circumstances, confirm that
the backup or export operation can be performed manually, and then perform the installation
again. If the backup or export operation during installation still fails, use the installation log to
determine the cause of the error. For details about how to back up a database, see subsection
4-
5-1 . For details about how to export a database, see subsection
4-5-3 .
9. In a non-cluster environment, a message asking whether you want to start the XP Command
View AE Suite services after installation is complete is displayed. If you want to start the
services after installation is complete, choose y. The services of Common Component and XP
Command View AE Suite will then be started after installation is complete. If you do not want to
start the services after installation is complete, choose n.
CAUTION: The services of XP Command View AE Suite products whose versions are earlier than
5.7 are not started by choosing y. If you want to start the services of XP Command View AE Suite
after installation is complete, manually start the services. For details about how to start these
services, see the manual for your product version.
IMPORTANT: To continue setup in a cluster environment after installation is complete, choose n.
10. The installation package confirmation message is displayed. Enter y to start the installation. If
XP Command View AE Suite Common Component has not been installed, it is installed during
the installation of Device Manager.
11. A note on Secure Socket Certificates is displayed. Press Enter to continue.
12. A message indicating that installation has finished appears.
13. If you upgraded Device Manager to the latest version from versions 5.0 through 5.1.0-04, 5.5
through 5.5.0-02, or 5.6, delete the Device Manager user account that you previously used, or
change the password of the account to avoid using the user authentication information for the
user account that was registered in the past.
NOTE: For details about how to delete the Device Manager user accounts and how to change the
passwords, see the HP StorageWorks XP Command View Advanced Edition software Device
Manager user guide.
14. Refresh all the registered subsystems to update the database.
15. Back up the database of the Device Manager server.

CAUTION: Before you can install the XP Provisioning Manager server as a new installation and
use it, you need to obtain and register a license key. For details about how to register a license
key for the XP Provisioning Manager server, see the manual HP StorageWorks XP Provisioning
Manager software user guide.
NOTE: If the installer ends with an error, follow the instructions in the error message and reinstall
Device Manager. Execute the following commands to check the installation progress:
# rpm -qi HDVM
If the Device Manager information is displayed, first uninstall and then reinstall Device Manager.
