CAUTION: Even if installation of Device Manager fails, the GO menu command for starting
Device Manager might appear in the Dashboard of other XP Command View AE Suite products.
To remove GO, a user with User Management permissions must execute the following command.
When this command is executed, the XP Command View AE Suite Common Component services
must be running.
<common component installation directory>/bin/hcmdsintg -delete -type
DeviceManager -user user-ID -pass password
4-3-1 Verifying the Device Manager server installation
1. Enter the following command to verify that Device Manager is running:
installation-directory-for-the-Device-Manager-server/suitesrvcntl -
status_hdvm
The following shows an example of executing the command:
# /opt/CVXPAE/ suitesrvcntl -status_hdvm
2. If Device Manager is up and running normally, the following message appears:
The status_hdvm request was accepted.
The Device Manager server started.
4-3-2 Verifying XP Command View AE Suite Common
Component installation
1. Execute the following command to check whether XP Command View AE Suite Common
Component is running:
<common component installation directory>/bin/hcmdssrv –status
The following shows an example of executing the command:
# /opt/CVXPAE/Base/bin/hcmdssrv -status
If the following message appears, Common Component is running normally:
KAPM06440-I The HiRDB service has already started.
KAPM05007-I Already started service. service-name=HBase Storage Mgmt

KAPM05007-I Already started service. service-name=HBase Storage Mgmt
Common Service
2. If XP Command View AE Suite Common Component is not running, execute the following
command to start it:
<common component installation directory>/bin/hcmdssrv -start -server
HBase
3. If Common Component fails to start, possible causes include the following:
The port number might already be in use. If this is the case, change the port number. See
subsection
5-4-2 for instructions on how to change the port.
The amount of installed memory might be insufficient. To increase the amount of installed
memory as needed, see subsections
4-1-1 and 4-1-2 .
Process IDs for service processes of Common Component might overlap. If they do,
perform the following operations:
Stop Common Component and the services of XP Command View AE Suite:
<common component installation directory>/bin/hcmdssrv -stop
