<common component installation directory>/bin/hcmdssrv -start -

If Common Component still does not start, stop Common Component and the XP
Command View AE Suite services again:
<common component installation directory>/bin/hcmdssrv -stop
Delete the files:
# /usr/bin/rm -rf /var/ <common component installation
directory>/tmp/*.pid
Start Common Component:
<common component installation directory>/bin/hcmdssrv -start -
server HBase
4. If XP Command View AE Suite Common Component still does not start, restart the Device
Manager server.
5. If XP Command View AE Suite Common Component still fails to start, use the
cvxpaegetlogs command to collect maintenance information, and then contact Customer
Support. For more information on the cvxpaegetlogs command, see subsection
10-2-1 .
6. If one or both of these processes are still not running, check the installation log, which is located
in the Device Manager installation directory, and follow the instructions.
7. If the problem still remains, uninstall Device Manager (see subsection
4-6-1 for instructions),
reboot the system, and then reinstall Device Manager (see section
4-2 for instructions).
4-4 Starting and stopping the Device Manager
server
This section describes how to start and stop the Device Manager server. This section also describes
processes that are resident during the startup of the Device Manager server and Common
Component.
WARNING: If a client (such as web client, Device Manager CLI, or the Device Manager agent) is
accessing the Device Manager server on a machine when that machine is shut down, the client
processing terminates because the Device Manager server stops. Make sure that clients are not
accessing the server before shutting down a machine that is running the Device Manager server.
To start the Device Manager server, execute the following command:
installation-directory-for-the-Device-Manager-server/suitesrvcntl -
start_hdvm
The following shows an example of executing the command:
# /opt/CVXPAE/suitesrvcntl -start_hdvm
This command outputs the following messages:
The start_hdvm request was accepted.
The Device Manager server started.
This indicates that Device Manager is up and running normally.
To stop the Device Manager server, execute the following command:
installation-directory-for-the-Device-Manager-server/suitesrvcntl -
stop_hdvm
To check the status of the Device Manager server, execute the following command:
