8-1 Overview of Device Manager server
properties
The following shows the default directory that contains the property files for the Device Manager
server.
Windows
C:\Program Files\CVXPAE\DeviceManager\Server\config
Linux
/opt/CVXPAE/Server/config
If two or more entries are specified with the same property name in a property file, the last entry
takes effect.
IMPORTANT: If you make a change to any property file, that change will not take effect until the
server is rebooted. If you make changes to any server properties, you will need to restart the
Device Manager agent.
Server properties (see section 8-2 ) include the HTTP listener IP address and port, and
performance-tuning properties, such as the size of input/output buffers, various TCP/IP stack
and socket settings, server file-cache parameters, connection thread priorities, and properties
related to the email notification function.
CAUTION: You should not undertake the task of optimizing these attributes unless you are an
expert, because even minor changes could severely impact the performance of the Device
Manager server.
Database properties (see section 8-3 ) include DBMS parameters, such as drivers and login
ID.
