8-3 Database properties
Database properties are contained in the database.properties file.
The database properties configuration file contains the set of directives that pertain to establishing a
connection with the Device Manager server's database. Before the Device Manager server will run
you need to correctly enter these settings and start the Database Management System (DBMS). If
the server cannot connect to its DBMS, an entry is written to the error log (the default location is in
the logs directory). This information can help considerably when you are troubleshooting a new
installation.
8-3-1 dbm.traceSQL
This property designates whether the output to trace.log is SQL. Set true to output to SQL. Set false
not to output SQL.
Default: false
8-3-2 dbm.startingCheck.retryCount
This property specifies the number of times the Device Manager server will retry whether DBMS has
started when the server is launched. The specifiable value ranges form 0 to 100. As a general rule,
you do not need to change this setting.
Default: 18
