3-3-3 Performing a new installation
CAUTION: While performing cluster configuration, do not access Device Manager.
CAUTION: Before starting installation, perform the following steps:
If the cluster management IP address and shared disk are not enabled on the executing node, perform
steps 1 to 5 in
3-3-3-3 below to place the resources of the cluster management IP address and shared
disk online.
If other XP Command View AE Suite products are already running in a cluster environment, make
preparations such as canceling the cluster configuration. For details about the necessary preparations,
see subsection 3-3-2 .
3-3-3-1 Installing on the executing node
1. On the executing node, perform a new installation of the Device Manager server (see
subsection
3-2-2 ). The requirements for the installation are as follows:
In the Choose the Database for XP Command View AE Suite Common Component dialog
box and the Choose the Database for Device Manager dialog box, do not change the
default database storage destination folders.
In the Installation Server Information Settings screen, specify a logical host name for the IP
address of the Device Manager server.
A logical host name indicates the name of a virtual host allocated to the cluster
management IP address.
2. After the Device Manager server is installed on the executing node, enter the license key by
using web client.
NOTE: You should have received a CD that contains the Device Manager License Key. You
should upload the License Key file to a folder on the same server where Device Manager will be
installed. That way, you can click the button next to License File and browse for the License Key
file. Once the file is found, simply highlight the file and click the Open button. This will update
Device Manager with the permanent License Key.
3. Use a text editor to create a cluster configuration file containing the following entries:
mode: Specify online.
virtualhost: Specify the logical host name.
onlinehost: Specify the host name of the executing node.
standbyhost: Specify the host name of the standby node.
You cannot specify an IP address for virtualhost, onlinehost, or standbyhost.
Confirm that the IP address can be resolved from the host name.
The following example shows sample entries in a cluster configuration file:
mode = online
virtualhost = hcmdserver
onlinehost = hcmdserver_1
standbyhost = hcmdserver_2
4. Save the created file as cluster.conf in <common component installation
folder>\conf.
5. Open the server.properties file, and then specify the logical host name for the
server.http.host property.
The server.properties file is stored in the following folder:
installation-folder-for-the-Device-Manager-server\Server\config
The following shows a coding example of the server.http.host property:
