NOTE: Do not stop the Common Component services while another XP Command View AE Suite
program is running.
1. On the standby node, perform a new installation of the Device Manager server (see
subsection
3-2-2 ). Requirements for installation are as follows:
In the Choose Install Folder dialog box, specify the same installation path as that on the
executing node.
In the Choose the Database for XP Command View AE Suite Common Component dialog
box and the Choose the Database for Device Manager dialog box, do not change the
default database storage destination folders.
In the Installation Server Information Settings screen, specify a logical host name for the IP
address of the Device Manager server.
A logical host name indicates the name of a virtual host allocated to the cluster
management IP address.
2. After the Device Manager server is installed on the standby node, enter the license key by
using web client. For more information on using web client, see the HP StorageWorks XP
Command View Advanced Edition software Device Manager user guide.
Use the IP address of the standby node to access the Device Manager server.
NOTE: You should have received a CD that contains the Device Manager License Key. You
should upload the License Key file to a folder on the same server where Device Manager will be
installed. That way, you can browse for the License Key file. Once the file is found, simply
highlight the file and select the Open button. This will update Device Manager with the permanent
License Key.
3. Use a text editor to create a cluster configuration file.
The items to be specified in the cluster configuration file containing the following entries:
mode: Specify standby.
virtualhost: Specify the logical host name.
onlinehost: Specify the host name of the executing node.
standbyhost: Specify the host name of the standby node.
