Troubleshooting 147
Table 11-5 Troubleshooting Information: Host Information Display (continues on the next page)
Problem Cause Recommended Action
After the host name of the host machine
is changed, both the host name that
existed from before the change and the
one created after the change are
displayed in the host management
window.
The host name of the host machine and
the host management information of
Device Manager do not match.
Carry out the following operations:
1 In the host management window of
Device Manager, of the host
information that existed from before
the change and the host
information created after the
change, delete the information for
which a value is not entered in
World Wide Names.
Note:
If the host information for which a
value is entered in World Wide
Names is deleted, LUN security set
in the volume is cancelled. Do not
delete the host information for
which a value is entered.
When a value is not entered in
World Wide Names in either set of
host information, delete the host
information that existed before the
change.
2 In the host management window of
Device Manager, change, to the
desired host name, the name of the
host for which a value is entered in
World Wide Names.
3 Match the host name of the host
machine with the host name
changed in the host management
window of Device Manager.
4 Restart Device Manager agent.
5 In the host management window,
make sure that only the correct
host name is displayed.
Even if the HiScan command is
executed, the host information is not
updated.
One of the following processings, which
was performed before the HiScan
command was executed, is not finished.
An update of the host information
Processing for the HiScan
command where the command was
executed by another user
If the HiScan command was executed
with the -t option specified, check the
output log file.
Wait a while, and then re-execute the
HiScan command with the -t option
specified.
Then, check the log file. For details on
how to check log files, see "Important"
in
6-6 .
If the update of the information has not
finished, wait a while, and then repeat
the above operations.
On a Linux host, the device file name of
the volume on which the partition has
been created is not displayed in the
device file list.
On a Linux host, if the partition has
been created on a LU, only the device
file representing the partition is
displayed. The device file representing
the entire LU is not displayed in the
device file list.
None. This is a result of Provisioning
Manager specifications. Provisioning
Manager does not display this type of
device file.
