After you have created a storage administrator, the storage administrator can register storage systems
and hosts, add accounts for other storage administrators, and begin operating Command View AE
Suite.
Verifying the installation
You can verify that the installation was successful by accessing the web client from a browser.
1. Start a Web browser.
2. In the address bar, specify the URL for Command View AE Suite in the following format:
http://Management-server-IP-address-or-hostname:23015/DeviceManager/
NOTE:
When using Internet Explorer 6.0 in an IPv6 environment, specify the IP address and host name
on the management server in the hosts file and use the host name to access the Web client.
The login window opens.
Registering licenses
Before you can use Command View AE Suite to operate and manage storage systems and hosts, you
must register a license key for each product.
1. In the product login window, click Licenses.
2. Add the license key.
3. Click Save.
License Information by Product is updated with the license information for the associated product.
Changing the system account password
The system account is a default account that has user management and execute permission for
Command View AE Suite.
The initial system account password is manager. When you install Command View AE Suite for the
first time, HP recommends that you change the password.
1. Log in to Command View AE Suite:
User ID: System
Password: manager
2. On the Administration tab, click Users and Permissions.
3. In the tree view, select Users.
4. In the list of users, select the System account.
5. Click Change Password, type and verify the new password, and then click OK.
6. Confirm that you can log on to Command View AE Suite with the new password.
Creating user accounts
Create accounts for users and assign permissions (roles) to the new accounts, so users can perform
operations.
