HP XP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite Software 7.5.0-00 Installation and Configuration Guide (TB581-96344, July 2013)

Modifying Device Manager agent properties
After installing the Device Manager agent, you may have to modify some of its properties.
1. Stop the agent service.
2. Modify the properties for the appropriate environment (see the categories that follow).
3. Start the agent service.
Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6)
Set the following properties in the agent server.properties file.
server.http.socket.agentAddress: Set the property to the IP address used to connect the
Device Manager agent to the Device Manager server.
server.http.socket.bindAddress: If the agent host has multiple NICs, specify the IP address
of one or more NIC, as needed, to receive requests.
Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM)
Specify the installed VxVM version in the veritas.volume.manager.version property of the
programproductinfo.properties file. Use the format x.x to specify a version.
UNIX environments, when the Device Manager agent is updated from version 05-00 to 5.9
If host programs do not require a different Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version from 1.4, then JRE
1.4 (included in versions 05-00 through 5.9) is used.
After the update, if a program is installed with a valid JRE, specify that program installation path in
the server.agent.JRE.location property of the server.properties file.
Resetting the agent service execution user on Windows
After an overwrite installation or upgrade on Windows, the agent service execution user setting reverts
to the default (LocalSystem). If the agent execution user is not LocalSystem, change this setting
after the installation.
To reapply the setting, go to Windows Computer Management and modify the HBsA Service account
information.
Registering firewall exceptions (Windows)
When you perform an unattended installation and you have Windows Firewall enabled, you must
add port numbers to the firewall exceptions list.
The port number specified for the server.agent.port property in the server.properties
file (Default: 24041/tcp)
The port number specified for the server.http.port property in the server.properties
file (Default: 24042/tcp)
The port number specified for the server.http.localPort property in the server.proper-
ties file (Default: 24043/tcp)
1. Log in to Windows using a user ID with Administrator permissions.
2. Execute the following command to add the port numbers used by the Device Manager agent to
the exceptions list:
Device-Manager-agent-installation-folder\bin\firewall_setup.bat -set
